If your website has suddenly gone offline, it may be because your domain name hasn’t been verified yet.
When you register a domain name with Webador, we’re required by our domain name registrar partner (Openprovider) to verify that your email address is valid. This helps ensure we can contact you about your domain name when needed.
If this verification isn’t completed within a certain period of time, your domain name will be temporarily deactivated, which also causes your website (and any connected email addresses) to go offline.
How do I know if I haven't completed the verification?
If an incomplete email verification is the reason your website is offline, you'll see an error message explaining that on your subscription page, in a red box underneath your domain name.
How to fix it
You can easily resolve this issue by verifying your email address.
- Go to your My Subscription page in your Webador account.
- In the Domains box, click on Manage domains.
- Click on the Resend button underneath your domain name.
- Check your inbox (and your spam/junk folder) for a new verification email, with the subject line "[ACTION REQUIRED] Confirm email address for domain registration”.
⚠ Note: The verification email is sent to your account/login email address, which may not be your domain-based email (e.g. info@yourdomain.com). See the the bottom of this page for more information.
- Open the email and click on the verification link to complete the verification.
Once you've completed the verification, your domain name will become active again shortly after, and your website will come back online. Your email address will also be working again.
I didn’t receive the verification email
If you don’t see the verification email in your inbox or spam folder after resending it, make sure you check any other folders (such as “Updates” or “Promotions”) your email provider might use.
If you’ve tried resending the email and still can’t find it, please contact our support team. We’ll be happy to assist you in reactivating your domain and getting your website back online.
I'm using my domain-based email address as my login email
If you've already changed your account/login email address to the email address you created that's linked to your domain name, you won't be able to receive the verification email there. This is because when your domain name is inactive, the associated email address also stops working.
To resolve this, you can change your email address (to a Gmail or Outlook address for example) in My account before re-sending the email to yourself. If you're unable to log in, you can re-set your password using the link on the login page.
