Common reasons why products do not show up in Google Merchant Center

It may happen that products are not displayed in Google Merchant Center. By using the "Products," "Diagnostics," and "Overview" pages, you can check whether any errors have been found.
Examples of errors that may occur include product data not being processed correctly in Merchant Center, a required attribute not being provided, or a product violating a policy. It can take up to 2 hours before your product data appears in the products list.

If you cannot find any errors in your account, here are a few common reasons why your products may not be displayed:

1. Your products are "pending":

Your product has the status "pending," which means it is not displayed in ads or free listings because it is still being processed by Google. Reasons why a product may still be pending include:

  • You are new to Merchant Center and/or your product is awaiting its first review: When you are new, your account must first be reviewed to ensure that you comply with Shopping policies and requirements. This can take up to 3 business days for Shopping ads and a few weeks for other features, such as free listings.
  • Your products require shipping information:
Providing shipping costs is required when you target a country that requires this information. You can set shipping costs for all products using the shipping settings in Merchant Center or for specific products using the shipping attribute
  • Your product has an "image crawl" pending:
You do not need to take any action. Your image will be displayed automatically once it has been fetched by Google. If there are any issues, Google will notify you.
Please note that this may take some time.

Important: Upload a feed only once unless you change your product data. Re-uploading a feed that has already been uploaded may cause the process to restart.

2. SafeSearch is enabled:

This feature is enabled by default and may cause some products not to be displayed.
You can disable SafeSearch as follows:

  1. Sign in to your Merchant Center account.
  2. Click Shopping ads in the navigation panel, then click Settings.
  3. Click the Adult content section.
  4. Check the box for My site contains adult-oriented products as defined by Google policy.

3. Your products have expired:

To keep content shown in Shopping ads and free listings up to date, all products expire after 30 days. To prevent your product from expiring, you can resubmit your product data whenever the item information changes.

There is a limit of once per day, and at least once per month.
