If you've received a payment or payment authorization in PayPal, but no corresponding order appears in your store, this may be related to PayPal Fast Checkout.
Why does this happen?
With PayPal Fast Checkout, the customer first authorizes the payment through PayPal and then returns to the checkout to complete their order.
If the customer accidentally closes the page or skips the final step, the order isn't completed. As a result, you may see the payment or authorization in PayPal, but no order will be created and you won't receive an order notification.
What should I do?
Don't accept or process the payment as a completed order. We recommend asking the customer to place their order again and make sure they complete the final step of the checkout process.
If you're unsure about the status of the payment or need help managing it, visit your local PayPal website and select Contact at the bottom of the page to get in touch with PayPal Support.
If you'd prefer to avoid this situation in the future, you can disable PayPal Fast Checkout.
Go to Store > Payment methods and deactivate PayPal Fast Checkout. Customers will then no longer be able to use the Fast Checkout option when paying with PayPal.
