Can I ask for donations on my website?

Yes! You can add buttons to your website with payment links to receive donations from your customers.

Accept donations with Stripe

Step 1

In the Editor, drag the Button element from the menu on the left and drop it in place on your webpage.

Step 2

In another tab or browser window, log into your Stripe account. From your Stripe dashboard, in the menu on the left, click on Payments, then click on Create a payment link.

 

Step 3

On the Payment links page, under Select type, ensure Customers choose what to pay is selected.

Step 4

In the Payment page tab, enter a title for the donation, and optionally add a description and an image.

Step 5

Go to the After payment tab and optionally select whether to display a payment confirmation page with a custom message.

Step 6

Click on the purple Create link button in the top right corner of the page to finalize your donation button.

Step 7

On the Payment link page, click on the purple Copy button next to your product link to copy it.

Step 8

Go back to the Webador Editor, click on the Button element you placed earlier, and click on the blue Add link button.

Step 9

Go to the Webpage tab, enter the payment link you created (right-click in the Website address field and select Paste), and click on Save.

Accept donations with PayPal

Step 1

Go to this page to start creating your button:

  • Choose your country and language in the drop-down menus
  • Select Use PayPal button style or Use your own button image
    • If using a PayPal button style, select the size in the drop-down menu
    • To use your own button image, enter the URL of your image

Example PayPal button:

  • Click on Continue.

Step 2

Enter the email address you want to receive payments at (e.g. your PayPal email) and, optionally, the reason you're collecting donations, then click on Continue.

Step 3

In the drop-down menu, select the currency you want to receive donations in, then select whether donors can send you any amount or a fixed amount (set by you).

Step 4

Click on the Finish and Get Code button, and on the next page, click on the Copy to clipboard link under the box containing the HTML code.

Step 5

In the Webador Editor, drag the Embed Code element from the menu on the left and drop it where you want your donate button to appear.

Step 6

Click on the element, click on Edit Embed, and go to the Your HTML tab.

Step 7

Paste the HTML code you copied in step 4 into the box and click on Save to create your button.
