Set up redirects

You can use redirects (also known as 301 forwards) to link an old URL to a new URL. This is useful if you replace a page and you want visitors to come to the new page when they type in the old URL.

For example: your old URL was myname.com/about.html and your new URL is myname.com/our-story. You can set up a redirect so that visitors who type in myname.com/about will be taken to myname.com/our-story.

Step 1

Go to Settings.

Step 2

In the menu on the left, click on Advanced. Click on Add redirects at the top of the page.

Step 3

Click on the blue + Add redirect button.

Step 4

Enter the old URL, then select the page you want to link it to in the drop-down menu.

Step 5

Click on Save. Visitors who type in the URL you entered will be taken to the selected page.
