Domain name linking is for users with a domain name registered elsewhere who want to use that domain for their Webador site. While linking is an option, we recommend transferring your domain name to Webador to avoid paying double the costs. Our Lite, Pro, and Business plans come with a free domain name.

You'll need a Webador Lite, Pro, or Business plan to be able to link a domain name. You can link your domain name to Webador and activate it yourself.

1. Link your domain name to our server

Follow the steps below to link your domain name to Webador's servers.

Step 1

Log into the website of the provider your domain name is registered with.

Step 2

Go to the page where DNS settings are managed (also known as 'DNS management') and find the option to change the A-records (NOT the name servers).

Step 3

Change the following A-records so that they link to 35.204.150.5 (the IP address of our servers):

Name
Type
Value
www
A
35.204.150.5
Leave empty OR @
A
35.204.150.5
* (optional)
A
35.204.150.5

Warning: We do not use IPv6. Please make sure all AAAA DNS rules are deleted.

2. Activate the link

Follow the steps below to activate the link to your domain name.

Step 1

In the Editor, click on the Webador logo in the top left corner.

Step 2

Click on My subscription.

Step 3

In the Domains box, click on the blue + Register domain or + Extra domain button.

Step 4

Enter the domain name and click on the blue link via DNS link.

Step 5

You will then be asked if you'd like to enter a transfer code. Click on I want to link the domain name via DNS.

Step 6

You will now see an overview of the required DNS settings. If these settings are correct, click on the green Check link button. Your website should be active immediately!

After following these steps, your domain name will be linked to your website.

Tip: Even with a linked domain name, you can create your own e-mail address via Webador.
